TKLD- Chapter 6- Two's A Charm

I decided to put this out early since I have to go to school on Tuesday :P
This is Chapter Six
Enjoy, have fun and please don't feed the children.

The days grew shorter along with the months of Violet's pregnancy, everyday we would show our joy in picking out names for our little angel. I found Violet sitting on the couch watching children's channel with a grin.

"What you doing?" I asked sliding beside her, putting my arm around her neck.

"Just watching what our kiddies will watch real soon." She replied.

"Kiddies?" I questioned suspiciously, an eyebrow rose on my forehead. Violet let out a giggle and a 'I didn't tell you?' look on her face. I rose from my seat next to Violet rubbing her stomach.

To believe in her stomach could be twins, I gently rubbed over the spot with my goofy smile. I was almost a dad to say, holding two crying bundle of joys.

"No wonder the bump on her stomach got bigger than your head... Hah! I felt a kick!" I sang, higher pitched than expected. Violet bursted out laughing along with me, a happy screwed up family laugh.

"They been kicking all morning. I hope there isn't a boy,  it's like wresting match in there." She replied rubbing her side in pain. Then a short gasp exited her mouth her rubbing her stomach.

"I think a knock out just happened." She did an uneasy laugh.
Seeing the look on Violet's face made me panic more than her. Her clutched her stomach in agony and did he same uneasy laugh again. That's when reality hit, she was going in labor.

"I'll get the car ready." I said quickly grabbing the car keys

"It's too far and a two hour drive." Violet responded "I'm having the babies here."

I didn't protest, I just got the place ready. Maybe a murder was going on hell if the neighbors cared enough.

In many hours of pain and hard work, two little girls joined the world that faithful morning. Who I named the angel in my arms Marley and Violet named the other Ava. We held them close to our chest with a smile on completion.

"Hey, Violet. I want a boy next." I winked at her, laughing.

"Oh hell no." She gave a playful shove at me.

                                                                    (Two years later)
"Marley, dum-dum!" Ava squealed loudly looking over at Marley who was laughing. Ava pounded the table leaving Marley to join. I reached over and picked up Marley while Violet took care of Ava, Marley was my favorite of the twins. She resembled Violet but had many facial features of me, including the stupid humor.

"Now Ava, go to your room. Then come out when I tell you, Don't call Marley a dum-dum." Violet scolded Ava setting her onto the kitchen tile. Instead of going straight to her room she did what all toddlers are expected to do, run.
"Vroom! Vroom! Come on Gwampy!" Ava giggled running around Frankie's legs almost throwing him off balance. Ava stumbled into varies of objects in the kitchen almost knocking over Marley who was still hanging on my leg. I semi-pushed Marley to go join the wild goose chase with Ava. She shook her head as a no,

"Marley, can you say no for daddy?" I asked hoping for her first words. She opened her mouth then started giggling at Ava who fell over, then Violet picking her up and dusting her off. Which I did the same.
I snuggled Marley close to my chest brushing the loose strands of hair out of her face.  Wondering, even  hoping she would learn soon how to talk and maybe how to walk without tripping over invisible rocks. When I released her, her face beamed brightly eyes looking high into the ceiling.  She was my special little girl, and no one could ever change that.
