TKLD- Chapter 7- Memories Are Pains

Wow a lucky number! I hate lucky numbers >:(
Marley and Ava are adorable! Comments appreciated!

"Daddy!" Ava wailed as I stumbled into her room, Marley slept soundly though the wails of Ava. Ava was dying to get out of her so called prision, I reached down and grabbed her torso. Giggles that made me smile came from her awaking Marley from her slumber. Soon both cried to be taken out and fed breakfast.

"If you guys be quiet, you get cheerios." I bribed them, not taking a second for Ava to response I whisked them away to Violet. Sleep-deprived and going insane, I walked myself to the backyard which over viewed the nearby town in the distance.

I laid under the old maple tree in the back yard, watching the clouds dance across the sky. I yawned closing my eyes This isn't so bad I thought grinning inside Relax I yawned again, shifting my weight to my side. Allowing the soft touch of sleep take me away.
Marcus was throwing his hands in my face in disgust. Her face full of pure angry, eyebrows arched high on his forehead. His voice showed power and no mercy to a small child.

"How many times have I told you, Theo! Never touch my stuff!" He spat, poking me in the chest. No words came from my mouth but a little whimper.

"Marcus, I'm sorry." My bottom lip quivered, tears started to form in the corner of my eyes. Marcus came up close to my face looking over the fading freckles.

"Two things, little brother, What grandma says how thoughts freckles are from how many kisses she gave you. Shes damn wrong. Oh... and sorry doesn't cut it!" With the last statement she gave me a shove to the grass, stepping onto my left arm. For Marcus he was a hot air balloon, about to burst from pressure. A shooting pain shot though my arm reaching it's way to my shoulder; Laughing like Marcus.

"Daddy!" I cried into the sky, If he heard me or not I couldn't tell. I closed my eyes fighting the sharp pains in my arm.

"Shut up! I'll show you to always listen to me" Marcus hissed, kicking me in the back making me roll to my side clutching my left arm, breathing heavily from the blow he just gave. He had last laugh, walking towards the front yard where his so called 'girlfriend' awaited; Leaving me in pain in the back yard. My dad soon appeared at my side with a frown.

I was jolted awake by a voice.

"Marley said her first word!" She said excited, I brought myself to reality and followed Violet to the nursery. Taking my spot near Marley waiting once again.
Marley beamed brightly, wiggling her arms up and down. She gave a small smile and looked around. I asked her to tell me the words she told Violet all that came out was a 'bye bye'. I was confused what she meant so I kept asking just getting the same response.

"Bye Bye! Bye Bye!" Marley repeated happily, getting onto the last nerve a knock on the door brought myself away from Marley. Someone else got the door, Ava.

Ava's glare rose to the man hovering over her, eyes growing wide. The man gave a glow of evil and fear, eyes surveying the house in his sight. His hair, messy with grease giving off a toothy grin.

"Is your daddy home, Ava?" He said stepping his shoe though the door, walking past little Ava. "Say that his big brother is here."

My breath caught in my throat and fear overwhelmed me. I couldn't move my feet from the floor. Grunts filled the hallway coming closer to the nursery. My eyes quickly darted around the room for an to fight him, I knew this day would come soon enough. Tracking me from all the way over the globe. My eyes rested upon Marley, my sweet baby Marley. I knew if he knew I was married and had a favorite he would surely kill Violet,Marley, and Ava. I brought Marley into a tight hug, know realizing what she meant 'bye bye' for.

The footsteps stopped at the door, nothing move not even Marley. All I could do was wait, no fear. This was life or death with my hot-headed, evil brother. There's no choice for life. That's an freedom you have to work to get.
